Advent #3: Armor of the Landwaster
Title: Armor of the Landwaster

I fear to keep an open mind, for there are those who would use it as a door into my soul.
Alexis stood in front of the full-length mirror on the back of her bedroom door, wearing just her spandex workout outfit and five of the seven pieces of the Millenium Armor. Each armor piece, from the grieves to the helm sitting on her dresser, was bronze plated with gold. Precious stones and more gold formed Egyptian and hermetical symbols on what Carlos said was Greek-style armor.
The last piece, the right gauntlet, had arrived in the mail just that morning as an early Christmas present from Carlos. He'd enclosed a note saying he'd found it on a dig in Turkey, and he knew as soon as he held it that it was part of her suit. "It's got the same weird vibes, man."
She had noticed the aura, as well. The pieces always felt warm to the touch, even if she stuck them in the fridge, and wearing them felt like sun-drenched madness.
She put the remainting gauntlet on and fastened it. It was made for a bigger hand than hers, but after a few moments, it shifted and shrank to fit perfectly.
Looking in the mirror, she could see that the outer form overlaying her own was almost opaque. Silver-bright and night-dark metal shaped to a near-humanoid form, and all that was hidden was his face.
She wasn't sure if she could put on the helmet, not with the way her blood pounded and roared. Her own subdued interest in power had become a fury of power-lust, and her head swam with different emotions. She needed to put on the helmet, bring this to an end-
-"No."
She said it again, "No."
Alexis crouched down and began to unlace the greaves with trembling fingers. "No, no, no. I won't."
She'd donate the armor to a museum in the morning. She just couldn't take the way it messed with her head.
