Collected Soundwave/Blaster Bits
So, collecting the bits I wrote on Seiber's smut post. This is somewhat fragmentary and not cleaned up, but it is more or less the course their relationship followed in my timeline. No current plans to elaborate on this, but you never know.
---
Two much younger, but still recognizable mechs spooned together... The red one stroking the blue one's face, running his thumb over the circuitry that marks the fit points for his lover's mask. Both of them are singing softly, melody and harmony trading off.
***
Later, they're a little older, a little rougher... There's a disharmony in their music now, so subtle only they can hear or notice it. Neither of them mentions it, nor the time Soundwave spends away, visiting rallies by that popular gladiator, Megatron... Blaster doesn't touch the circuitry on Soundwave's face anymore, not after the time Soundwave bit him for doing so.
***
Blaster stares at the wreckage now; knowing that the Decepticons did this, knowing that Soundwave is missing... And not daring to put two and two together, because if he does, he'll shatter.
They still sang together when they wound down from their link-ups, and even if the songs were dark and dire, they were music shared. Even if Soundwave didn't take his mask off anymore, even if Blaster had upgraded to a more powerful body shell - they had shared music.
***
And years later, after Blaster had convinced himself that Soundwave never coming back into his life, when he's up to his knees in battlefield wreckage and fighting for his life, he lifts his head and sees a familiar masked form standing near and behind the Decepticon leader. He shattered, but it wasn't like a glass breaking; rather, it was ice and frost shorn from a sword with a swift blow.
And in that moment, Soundwave saw him.
At this distance, both spatially and chronologically, Soundwave's face should have been unreadable. They had never relied on their optics, though - they heard far more than they saw. Even under the hail of laser fire, even under the crunch of metal, even under the shouts of pain and anger...
Blaster heard Soundwave's fuel pump judder.
He didn't hear the black-cassette cat stalk through the battlefield.
***
Later, he let the dark blue car mech who had become his friend patch the claw-rents in his back. He tried to resist the urge to sing, even if the glimpses of blue at the edge of his optics reminded him of Soundwave.
---
Bonus: A bit of human!Ravage/human!Soundwave slash.
---
The dark man straddled Soundwave's hips, growling softly. "I should kill you. Disloyal, self-serving, blackmailing..." He hissed, bent down to nip at Soundwave's throat. "You're barely a Decepticon. You don't believe."
Soundwave remained silent, expressionless.
Ravage kneaded at his host's chest, red-brown eyes intense. "Why?"
Why don't I kill you? I killed the mech I had sworn to protect and had protected for a million years, because he stood between me and Megatron. You are far more dangerous to Megatron than the Overlord ever was... Why don't I kill you?
Soundwave chuckled and reached up to catch Ravage's wrists. The cat-turned-man deigned to let him, just as he always deigned to let Soundwave live.
