08. Do you write OCs? And if so, what do you do to make certain they're not Mary Sues, and if not, explain your thoughts on OCs.
Yes, I write OCs. I also don't do anything to make certain they're not Mary Sues. I don't give a crap if people think they're Mary Sues. They're my characters, and they're either there to serve a specific story function or they're there because I think they're fun.
I really think fandom puts too much emphasis on original characters being "done wrong" if the writer doesn't work hard to make them bland and unimportant. No. Fuck that noise. Write whatever you damn well please with your original characters. A good writer can pull off anything, and even if you aren't there yet, you can have fun.
