What is probate?

I bet Poinsettia will be quite the heartbreaker when she grows up, too, but that may just be me. Have this vague notion of her doing teenage-rebellion by joining the Decepticons. Give her moms fits, that will.

Legal process of settling the estate of a dead person, more specifically settling all claims to that estate, and divying it up to all the beneficairies named in a will.

Not sure which gets nastier. That or divorce.

Ah, probate happens if you don't have a will as well... Probate Court will appoint an administrator to divy things up if things are intestate (without a will).

*had to check that as there's a slight difference in the way Canada and the US handles probate with and without a will*
