More G1 Episodes
"The Immobilizer"
- You know, before I saw her, I thought Carly was a brunette. I think I liked my mental picture of her better than how she looks in the actual cartoon.
- If the Decepticon base is really close enough to the surface for someone to scuba down there, why haven't we dropped depth charges on it? It worked on Innsmouth, and the Decepticons are ever so much more of a threat than the Deep Ones. Besides, it would give our submarine corps something to do.
- Carly may have provided a pseudo-science explanation for why she thought switching the wires in the immobilizer would reverse the effect, but I think she just switched in on the basis of "well, it's bound to do something". Chaos theory for the win!
- Wheeljack invented a device that puts the target at absolute zero. This freaks me out, but I don't rightly recall the science behind why. I know absolute zero is currently impossible with human tech. I also seem to recall a description of the heat-death of the universe starting when something reaches absolute zero and it spreads. Of course, I could be completely mis-remembering that part.
- Watching Spike try to explain to the police officer that he wasn't driving the car, so he wasn't doing anything illegal was quite amusing.
- Jazz has the awesomest sound and light system ever.
"Autobot Run"
- I haven't had quite this much of a headache from an episode since "Autobot Spike".
- Megatron's fusion cannon seems to have been reduced to the status of giant laser pointer for this episode. Really, why didn't he just shoot the Autobots when he had the chance? Shooting is NOT too good for your enemies.
- So far, the S2 episodes with the Constructicons in them have been fairly lame. Apparently, Constructicons do not make episodes better. Is sad.
- Much love for Koi for pointing out to me at least two different semi-plausible reasons why the Transfixatron had any effect whatsoever on Devastator. It silences my griping about how the transfixer should have just trapped him in robot-mode (i.e. done nothing useful).
- The race was cool, though I was sad that Wheeljack didn't race. He's such a pretty car.
- Lovecraftian trash compactors are all well and cool. I still propose just shooting the Autobots.

Still, this show is starting to seem like something worth noticing. I wonder if there are DVDs...

However, I just might have to. Other options are getting DVDs in Swedish with no subtitles, or ordering the English versions from UK (damn expensive).

Just want to point out that this old G1 I'm commenting on, not Armada. *grins* I don't have Armada yet.
Bad dubbing hasn't ruined any shows for me yet recently, but bad animation keeps smacking me between the eyes when I try to watch TF: Energon.

And in case you're interested, I posted a JCA rant at
