Breaking and Entering

Or, human stupidity in action.

So, Mom is spending the night with her mother, and I'm home alone. Big deal, right? I'm eighteen, I can handle this. Problem is, there isn't any food in the house. So I decide to do a quick run to Mickey D's and get a spicy chicken sandwich.

Lock the door, step outside, dig around in my purse for my keys. Don't find them. Realize I must have left them inside, like I did the other day when I had Mom with me and she just unlocked the door for me. Panicked. Tried to break down the door. Stopped and went around to the back to break a window open. Discovered that I couldn't do that easily, even with a brick. Took my brick, went around to the front door, and broke the decorative glass panel on the side nearest the handle. Reached in, unlocked the door, went inside. Cleaned up the broken glass. Went to look for my keys.

Discovered that I had dropped them in a different compartment from my purse than usual. *cries*

(cuddles)At least you've never locked your keys in your car while it's running. That is no fun.

*nods, clings* I can't wait for Dragon*Con. I've been so down lately, it's crazy. I wish I knew why.

Sometimes you just hit a bad patch, hon. It's okay. We're gonna have massive amounts of fun and there will be geekiness everywhere! (snugs)

*nods* And maybe Stormtrooper Elvis.

God, my head is so screwed up right now. Narrowly avoided having a nervous breakdown at work by having it at home instead.

Aw man...I have definately been there, believe you me. Sometimes the money just isn't worth what you have to go through to get it.

Feel free to snag me online or call over here if you want. Sometimes all you need is a friendly voice to rant at. I think you've got the home number, right?

(snugs)Hope things get better for you soon, babe!

Heh... my best friend once had to get a ladder to climb through a second story window in her house to unlock the door to let us in...

...Only to find when she got downstairs again, that the door wasn't really locked. =P

*patpat* Don't cry. Here, gaze upon the TF icon... maybe it'll at least make you smile. =)

Damn, that had to be annoying. Similar things have happened to me too, but I've always managed to open a window instead of breaking it.

I've never been adept at opening windows from the outside. Breaking it seemed easier. I have since been told that I should just call a locksmith next time.
