Five Good Things About Today (So Far)
5. Staying up until two in the morning roleplaying with Puck. Zhao finds Liang deeply bogglesome.
Zhao: *both my kids are 'benders! - truly, I am Awesome!* "So, when are you planning to enlist?"
Liang: *chokes*
Liang: "Planning to what?"
Zhao: "Join the army. You're an already trained bender, a smith, fairly strong..." *_my_ son*
Liang: "....you're... joking, right?"
Zhao: "... No."
Liang: "............." *puts his tools down. this conversation may require all his concentration*
Zhao: "... Is it because your mother is Earth Kingdom? Because we do effectively own this territory already. Nothing's going to happen out here."
Liang: "No. And technically speaking, I am also earth kingdom."
Zhao: *waves his hand - details, details* "You're not a coward." *you're my son, you can't be*
Liang: "No."
Zhao: "You're... loyal... to the Earth Kingdom?" *sounds as if this is a bogglesome idea, but he has to try it out*
Liang: "Not particularly. I doubt the Earth Kingdom would want me."
Zhao: "So." *is trying to figure out _any_ other reason why Liang isn't signing up to be a Fire Nation officer*
Liang: *sighs* "I find the idea of taking life abhorrant."
Zhao: "..." *this was not on the list of possibilities* "....?"
Liang: "Yes, I am well aware that I am a freak."
LIang: *sounds as though he's had to have this conversation before*
Zhao: "But- You're my son!"
Liang: "And I am quite content as a civilian."
Zhao: *is obviously mentally going 'but- but-'*
4. Waking up with my alarm and being awake enough that I didn't need to reset it to go off again in an hour. I did anyway, because my bed is amazingly comfortable and snugglesome, and I have nowhere I need to be today.
3. Finally cleaned out some of my loot from Botcon and Ohayocon. Haven't actually unboxed most of the toys I've picked up in the last few months, but at least they're not covering the floor of my room like a steadily creeping swamp. Also! I found some things I bought at Ohayocon that I meant to send to Puck. And more of the scented soaps people gave me for Christmas!
2. Finding the sketch of Motormaster that Scott got for me. Sometimes cleaning up is the best thing ever.
