Because sometimes I need to remind myself about these things.
5.
Bones is on tonight! There shall be more of Dr. Brennan being thoroughly not good at this human thing, more of Booth being awesome, and more of the two of them being adorable together. There will also be more of Hodgins, Angela, and Zack being major awesome. Plus, you know, forensic science.
4. I am reading
The Spice Route: A History by John Keay. It is sometimes overwrought in the language it uses to describe things, but it is lighting me up in the same way
Salt did. Trade, especially trade in foodstuffs, fascinates me. This explains the bevy of new books that have been added to my Amazon wishlist.
I want to write novels (fantasy, historical, science fiction, kumquat) about trade! What people do for trade and trade goods is
amazing.
3. I mailed things today! Yes, once again I conquered my tendency to let packages sit in my room, and I got them to the post office. They are now in the postal system and going off to people.
2. I downloaded
yWriter4 today and have been happily playing around with it for hours. Freeware for organizing your novel-writing in? Squee! The interface isn't immediately intuitive, but the QuickStart guide provided on the web page helped a lot. It looks to be very helpful, especially in terms of collecting information about characters, locations, and so on in an easily locatable place.
Given my previous tendency was to create massive text files of notes, this strikes me as way, way better for long projects.
1. Some extremely cursory research has confirmed that the basic premise for an original character in an original, paranormal setting isn't
too far out to lunch. This needs to be followed up with more research on Egypt and Santa Fe.
