Ishi'Verse Fluff for Spyridona
The sun shines. The air is warm, too warm the heavy green robes Long Feng is wearing. But they are his only armor, threadworn silk over fine links of steel chain, and he cannot go gallivanting about without armor.
So says How, anyway, and Long Feng is inclined to let the general have his way. For the moment.
"Look at all the trout!" Xin Wan croons, pointing to the subtle shadows in the deeper water.
Ishi nods, crouching down by the stream with Xin Wan. The mindbender has a length of line and several steel hooks, though he sneered when he collected them. Any boy from his village who needed line to catch a fish, he'd said as they walked, was clearly a fool. However, it had been decades since the last time he'd fished...
Long Feng smiles indulgently. There are reports he could be reading, information he could analyze for How and the Order, even earthbender training with some of the less squeamish soldiers. Yet he is out here with Ishi and Xin Wan. A warm breeze stirs his hair, and the ground under his feet is warm and soft.
This is a good day. He sighs in contentment as Xin Wan yelps at Ishi for jumping in the stream and scaring the fish.
He hopes there will be more good days before the War is over and after it is won.

I like the image of Long Feng wearing uncomfortable armor because someone asked him to. *Ruffles How* Thought I suspect it is not just for How but for Ishi.
Xin Wan is adorable in this, all happy and reliving his youth with one of the Dai Li's nieces. Ishi jumping in the water also brings a grin. She would do that. Water is nice and so is mud. It feels perfect between her toes.
A very bright, cute piece. I loved it and needed it. <333
