Christmas Nights in Blue
It is that time of year for the Christmas wishlist meme!
tep One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 (or however many you like) holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
There will be a lot of weird fic on here, because this is about the only time of year I can ask for this kind of thing.
- Anything from my Amazon wishlist (note: I don't expect anything from here at all; I'm just linking it for the record)
- Spinister/Needlenose. Anything Spinister/Needlenose.
- Fic with Bayformer Sunstreaker (yes, in that gold)(though, I'm bizarrely fond of these headfins) that fits him in with Sideswipe and doesn't get all G1 on things. Some G1 is okay, beecause, hey, while Bayverse Sunstreaker has been mentioned as existing, we don't know much else about him. I just really want something where the movie universe is the movie universe when something has been defined as existing in the movie universe.
I'm not even sure if that was a real sentence.
- Fanart of my fics! Any of my fics, any fandoms. It just is one of those things that makes me deliriously happy.
- Deadzone fanworks! Because I am madly in love with my Transformers RPG again.
- Transformers: Prime Breakdown-centric fic. Preferably not hashing out the aftermath of "Operation Breakdown", though.
- Harry Potter crossovers. I love them so. Preferably ones taking place in Hogwarts rather than the kids going elsewhere, though man, I have always wished there was a sequel to "The Room With the Computer" where we got to see the Trio at Xavier's.
- Sailor Moon crossovers! I love them so, too.
- Mai. Anything.
- Fic dealing with spirituality. Transformers or AtLA, preferably, but just about any fandom I read would make me go "squee" to find this kind of fic in.
- Fic with my favorite minor(ish) characters: Silverbolt, Slingshot, Breakdown, Cliffjumper, Shockwave, Smokescreen, Elita One, Nightbeat, Slipstream, Blitzwing, Astrotrain, Octane, Song, Long Feng, Hakoda, Piandao, Jeong Jeong, Pakku, Haru, June (but please no June/Iroh), Rubeus, Jadeite, Valmont.
- Stuff involving my original characters.
- Onslaught/Dr. Susan Hoffman. Anything.
- Music.
- Mirage. I'm just yenning for him oddly.
- Fic to go with thiiiiiiis.
- Expying various characters to Transformers: Prime. (Look at this awesome Tracks.)
