This is crazy!Zuko. He is my current super-favorite incarnation of Zuko. He seriously, seriously has his sex and love wires crossed.

I want to write more of him! SO! I am taking requests. Unlimited requests, I only guarantee one response per person. (And I guarantee NO MORE than one if you don't comment back to the one I do write you first.)

Requests I WILL NOT answer:
- the Azula and Zuko double-team 'cause I'm saving that for Spyri
- why Zuko is crazy
- Bumi/Zuko 'cause I just can't handle Bumi like that

"Clean your blades," Hakoda said automatically, but the scarred boy's blades were utterly pristine. He gave them a searching look, then glanced back down the hall and the corpses littering the floor.

Zuko's smile widened and flames briefly sheathed the swords. "I did."

"Ah." Hakoda blinked. "Good."

Crazuko/Sokka

Sokka kept a tight grip on Zuko's collar as he towed the idiot firebender away from Dad. Again. Stupid crazy bastard kept sidling up to him, and Sokka knew if he ever got the chance, Zuko would pull that 'love me?' crap on Dad. He'd pull it so hard, and Dad did not need to deal with that.

Zuko twisted in his grip so he could walk himself, then juddered to the side, shoulder glancing against Sokka's.

"Knock it off!" Sokka snapped. "Man, I like you, but you are seriously pushing it."

Zuko stopped dead.

Sokka rolled his eyes skyward. Yue protect him from crazy, crazy firebenders. "What is it now?"

"You like me?" There was something so strange about Zuko's voice, and the hair on the back of his neck stood up. Something in him told him not to look at Zuko.

"Yeah, I like you," Sokka replied, listening to his instincts and focusing on a random piece of temple-wall. Strangeness from Zuko was dangerous, and he was sure he could take the other boy (maybe), but he was also sure Aang still needed a firebending teacher.

A warm hand reached out, fingers grazed his cheek. "I like you, too," Zuko said in that same strange voice. "I... I haven't done that in a long time."

Sokka blinked. "Zuko, man, are you all right?"

"Fine," the firebender replied, his voice back to normal. When Sokka turned to look at him, he gave him that familiar creepy smile, then stepped close to Sokka. Way, way too close. "So. You like me," he purred. "Do you love me?"

"... Yeah, no."

awesome. got to love sokka and how he handles zuko. i'm curious about what made zuko have that less openly crazy moment, actually thinking he has a friend?

This isn't obvious because I'm writing these well out-of-order, but Zuko is gradually improving throughout seasons two and three. He improves by leaps-and-bounds after the eclipse. He'll never anywhere near sane, of course, but he's learning to manage himself better.

ah, well that explains it then.i'm glad that the kid has some hope, even if he's still a few apples short of a bunch.

When Sokka thinks Zuko's voice sounds strange, I interpret that as sane!Zuko shining through. And that makes me sad because sane!Zuko is strange sounding to normal people. :D
