In honor of All Hallow's Eve, I'm inviting trick-or-treaters to my 'door'. Comment "trick-or-treat" to this post and...well, you know the drill. Treats can be anything that strikes my fancy (pics of fave actors or pairings, one sentence fics, graphics, a few words why I'm glad to have you on my flist, etc. etc.). They brought her back, soft and creeling with hunger. Her eyes roiled with black starvation, and her distressed hungry sounds drew living men - palace servants, guards, soldiers, and Dai Li alike.

Niran could only turn so many away with his charms. Long Feng sent them scurrying with a look.

His fledgling, his impossible fledgling, collapsed in his arms. Ravenous hunger made her cries more piteous, her body soft and supple and desirous.

He was not moved. He swept her into his office and shut the door. The kindest thing would be to kill her, the poor girl forever trapped as a teenager. A late teenager, mercifully, but still far too young to face eternity.

Long Feng looked down into the starving black eyes of the girl who had warded him, then drew a flask of sunblood from his robes.

He had never been a kind man.
