Having written a huge variety of pairings yourself, particularly in the Avatar fandom, which pairing (or pairings) do you think there definitely needs to be more of? (Especially if they have never been written before.) In other words, what's your favourite rare pairing?

You could ask that of me once a month and get a new answer every month for a year. That being said... I would really like more Piandao/Sokka. It's a pairing I've nursed ever since the show, and I am still amazed at how little of it there is in the fandom.

You're totally right - I think I've only ever seen a handful Piando/Sokka fics, ever, and I think all of them were here on LJ. You weren't alone in getting the possibility of that vibe off of the two of them when watching the show, though. ;)

It really is my absolute favorite rare pairing. I have other things I'll be really into - right now, I seriously want some good Jet/Sokka - but Piandao/Sokka is a perennial with me.

Sadly, my one ongoing Piandao'n'Sokka fic is gen. Well, not 'sadly', but it ain't going to be inspiring any further slash, y'know?

If you could ask Mike and Bryan one question about Ozai, what would it be?

"Why the HELL couldn't you have given him more of a story?"

What two characters from any fandom do you think would have the prettiest babies? Crossovers are allowed/encouraged; gender can be ignored.

Valmont and Hakoda's babies would look like Yue. <3

I always did think Yue was gorgeous, at least coloring-wise. Get her to smile more and she'd knock them out of the park.

Is Zhao evil? Jerk, definitely. But evil?

Well, that depends on your definition of 'evil', doesn't it?

There are very few people I outright consider evil. Voldemort, Sauron, Morgoth, Lord Khasar. (There are likely more, those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.) To me, it's not just doing bad things, it's being able to completely disregard other people, to enjoy hurting them, to be monstrous.

Ozai is evil. Zhao, I do not see enough of how Zhao interacts with non-Zuko and non-Iroh people to figure out what Zhao is. A bad man, certainly. But whether he is evil is something I cannot judge.

As for myself, I don't think I consider him to be *evil* even with his minimal interaction that we see. Even with his murder of Tui, I don't think he's completely evil. I see that as ambition which doesn't necessarily compute evil.

I'm feeling silly, so...

If Ozai and Ursa sang a duet, what song would they sing? It doesn't have to be a song from the Avatar world. In fact, choosing a song from this universe would give you a lot more options. XD

I don't listen to a lot of duets, honestly. "How Much Salt" is definitely not appropriate for the two of them, no matter how much I like it. I tend to think of "Tanglewood Tree" as their song, though, and it is a song that requires multiple singers.

When it comes to a fandom and its fanbase, what is one thing you simply cannot stand?

Overall? Character-bashing pisses me off. Dislike a character? Fine. Don't go around telling people who like the character that they're wrong and bad and their choice is stupid. Don't insult the character in completely unrelated things. And yes, if the canon ship is A/B and you ship A/C, throwing in "B is terrible for A, lol!" in the author's or artist's comments of your A/C fan-creation counts as bashing to me. NO ONE CARES. YOU'RE JUST DOING THAT TO PISS PEOPLE OFF.

On a personal level, I am wary of people who over-identify with fictional characters due to some unpleasant run-ins with people in Transformers fandom. I am sure most of my TF friends can think of one of the two I'm thinking of.

Ugh, I know what you mean. It can get especially annoying when people purposefully write their hated character OOC just to make them look stupid.

It's kind of creepy to think of how many people are like that.

"Katara and Zuko get together! So of course Mai must be a homicidal bitch-queen and Aang must be an immature crybaby!" Gag me with a spoon.

"I love Seiya and Usagi together, so of course Mamoru must be a controlling stalker!" GGGGGNNNNNNGH.

Argharghargharghargh! This kind of thing comes up over and over again, too. I have friends not involved in AtLA fandom who can hear "Zuko's canon girlfriend" and realize exactly how Mai is treated by some parts of the fandom because they see the same damn thing in other fandoms.

It drives me crazy! Like what you like! Dislike what you dislike! Don't tell me I'm bad for liking them! Don't make them OOC to show why they're horrible people!

And if I ever hear "Mai is so depressed, I can't believe she didn't commit suicide during the course of the series" again, it will be too soon.

Oh geez, I know! Don't these people have anything better to do with their time than act like this?

What drew you to minor characters?

Contrariness.

That's pretty much the root of it, actually. Like, I got into certain Transformers characters because no one else was into them. I specifically noticed this and specifically decided to be their fan, then went out to rewatch episodes and media they were involved in so I could support my fan-ness.
