The bed creaked, and Bato glanced over his shoulder. Ozai sat on his bed, back against the headboard, the sole of one foot pressed against the other knee, an e-book reader in hand. The top button of his shirt was unbuttoned, and his eyes were molten gold. He looked nothing like the GQ covershot one of Bato's friends had 'helpfully' sent him after the gossip-rags found out about them.

For one thing, he took his wedding-band off when he came to visit Bato.
