Sokka, for his part, leaned out to peer at the tunnel-mouth. "Two- three sky-bison," he said softly. "Looks like about nine Air Nomads. All men."

All men. A raiding party, not a family group. Better in a way- Air Nomads killed to protect their children.

Sokka pursed his lips. "Looks like seven, eight adults with tattoos. One of 'em looks like a monk."

Katara felt the blood drain from her face. A monk. "The ninth?" She gulped. "What about the ninth?"

"... He's got hair," Sokka said in an odd tone of confusion and suspicion.

Katara jerked to look at her brother in puzzlement, then crawled forward to peer around his shoulder. Sure enough, one of the Air Nomads had a long topknot of black hair. His head was otherwise shaved in the usual fashion, and he didn't have the blue-arrow tattoos of mastery all of the others sported. In fact, Katara realized, the Air Nomad with the hair was a young man, hardly older than Sokka.

Intriguing! I'm always interested in seeing alternate takes on air nomad culture.

Is that Zuko? Now I'm curious about HIS backstory...

It is so awesome. Though I am slowly losing my grip on reality with it. Stupid airbending duel.

Though, hrm. I am finding I am a control-freak who does not co-author well. >_> I am not sure what to do with the Yujiro stuff you've written for it, because I do want to use that prologue but agh, not my prologue. *flails*
