Policy Change: Re: Book-Buying
Starting today and applying hence forward and not retroactively, I may only buy a new book when I have finished reading an old book. Also, I may not buy a new book unless it is a) in-store, or b) when I have enough accumulated books to use Amazon/B&N Online/Borders Online's free shipping over $25 order thing.
ETA: This also applies to buying ebooks.
Also, my measuring point is "Spacehounds of IPC" onwards in the book log.

Although ironically the first book read for the year, for me, was an old book, and I'm gonna finish another one this weekend.

Also, it means I'll finish at least two books in February since I want both "Desert of Souls" and "Late Eclipses".

Among Others was my indulgence in that direction for the quarter, I think. And oh, it was worth it. I've read it three times already. :D
So which two books are you gonna read this month?

So I'm reading it to motivate myself to do SOMETHING to improve. By the time the summer farmer markets start up, I want to be cooking everything I eat at least one day a week.
(I SWEAR you are stalking my bookshelves. Imajica is also on MY to-read ...um, urban sprawl, although it's in a box in the storage locker, so I can't pick it up this month and join you. :P )

(Heh. It's an... interesting book. Very... I am not sure if dense is the right word, but it feels like it. Packed full of stuff. I had to put it down for a few weeks after I finished chapter thirty so I could read a few palate-cleansers.)
