I'm not actually home yet, just stealing the computer while everyone else watches a football game.

I think I'm burning out on Transformers smuttery. It's getting harder for me to be really interested in doing much beyond a bit of kissing/teasing then fade to black. I can get away with that for

springkink, but there's a Tracks/Sunstreaker fic I owe that's hanging fire because I can't tackle the smut scene. (Then there's the Blitzwing/Catechism one that's all smut, and I just wind up staring at the file blankly whenever I open it.)

Looks like both of my upcoming Silverbolt

springkink fics will be late, and I'd appreciate a beta-reader for both of them. One is Motormaster/Silverbolt, one is Silverbolt/Optimus Prime. The MotoBolt one is smutty, and I haven't finished the Bolt/Prime one enough to say if it's smutty also. MotoBolt needs to be checked for sanity (does what is happening make sense? am I blind to how not-sexy/gross/kumquat it is? do I really need all of these scenes?) and characterization (should Silverbolt be behaving that way? should Motormaster?). The Bolt/Prime will probably need the same thing, but again, need to finish it.

I'm going to need a beta-reader or two for the Tracks/Sunstreaker one, as well, but I'll post more details about that when it's actually finished. Charles, I'm probably going to grab you for this just to check on the battle scene.

Kep, I need to drag you aside to talk Age of Apocalypse Sabretooth and Wild Child when I get back to decent internet speeds.

Also, any volunteers to hit me if I try to take a prompt for the next

springkink round? I really need to just stop for a round or two and concentrate on my own writing instead of stressing myself about both neglecting my own writing for springkink and not getting the springkink stories done on time.

So, no springkink for me next round unless there is a prompt that seems to be custom-tailored for my kinks and proclivities.

(Yours, by the way, is up, though I confess, it too lacks smut. I would like to know if you want to read the stupid random humanfic or the evil!brainwashed!Silverbolt!AU variations on the theme. If so I will post (either of) them for you.)

I do find that these things go in cycles; I'll be happy reading/writing smut and then suddenly feel like every variant of every body posture has been done and OH GOD WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE.

(Edit: Which, I meant to lead on to say - I am quite happy not to have smut in my prompt, if it's not working for you - less can sometimes be more, and impliedness is also sexy. :D)

You probably won't get smut in yours, because Oppy is involved, and I have a difficult, difficult time smutting Optimus Prime. There's just a part of me that looks at his big masked face and can hear his kindly voice saying, "Don't go there, girlfriend."

I saw what you posted! I don't plan to reply until tomorrow when I have a guaranteed connection, though. But it was made of awesome.

*snrrrrrrk* Yes, Optimus Prime is kind of... untouchable. (Except, apparently, when my brain decides that he ought to be giving sex ed to the two new gestalts. With practical demonstrations.)

Well, lemmesee . . . first off, what are the prompts you're writing? I've utterly forgotten what prompts I submitted and whether anyone claimed them, and I probably shouldn't beta my own.

I'll beta if you need me to, although please warn me if one of 'em's angsty or conflict-y, 'cause my ability to deal with such things kinda comes and goes and if I get hit with darkfic at the wrong time it is NOT pleasant.

I hope you get better soon, so to speak ;) Burnouts suck.

Prompts are: November 29: Transformers (G1), Silverbolt/Motormaster: bondage – bleed

November 30: Transformers G1 - evil!Silverbolt topping anyone EXCEPT another Aerialbot. Seduction, not non-con. "I can reach up and pluck down the lightning / I am electric, come closer to me"

The MotoBolt one is... probably dark. It opens with an implied gang-rape (I'm curious as to how many people will recognize that), and then continues on into an attempted rape. And while Silverbolt does come around to it once he electrocutes Motormaster and establishes that he's in control, that doesn't really change what Motormaster was attempting.

There's a reason I'll be using that fic for one of my 7 Deadly Sins fics.

MotoBolt will also be the opening fic for a seven-part series, but it should hopefully stand-alone until I get around to writing the next part. (Next part is Wrath, natch.)

The other one is probably going to be disturbing, too, though sans rape. Just full of green-eyed chaos.

Hmmm . . . I suspect it would be safer for me to pass on that, then . . . but if you don't get anyone else to beta for it I will . . . consent issues in Transformers fic don't squick me anywhere near as much as it does in anything else.

Hah . . . I claimed both of those, too. And I'm not sure I dare post the "bondage - bleed" one . . . I poured too much of me into it, if that makes any sense, and Moto's got a side to him in it that I'm worried about people accepting . . . eh, what the hell, I'll post it when I finish it.

On the plus side, Motormaster learns the important lesson of 'never attempt to rape a lightning-generator in the middle of a thunderstorm'.

But yeah, I figure that one is going to have a much lowered reader base than other stories I write. Very strong themes of non-consent, though if the series goes as planned, the non-consent morphs to a perceived-inequal-but-actually-equal-and-consensual balance.

I just see Motormaster as the type to go "want, take, have" first.

I think a well-written Motormaster is going to be a rather monstrous person if you get too far inside of his head. He's deeply sadistic to the point of tormenting his own teammates. He does love people, but he doesn't know how to express that through anything other than violence and domination.

So I don't think there's much of anything in what you can write in Motormaster that will bother me.

Actually, it was more in the opposite direction---I'm wondering if he's too "nice" to be believable. It's hurt-comfort (with bondage and bloodplay and the like), rather than much squicky stuff.

Basically, it starts with an established relationship---sexual but not romantic---between Silver and Moto. Silverbolt gets off hard on the rough stuff, but is ashamed of it, and ashamed of going to Motormaster for it, and falling in love with Motormaster besides, and thinking he's an idiot for doing so, and just all-around not in a healthy state of mind. He's also stressed about a whole lot of stuff, and the BDSM sessions function as stress relief, but he's still guilty and insecure over them; they cause as much trouble as they deal with.

Cue a fight with his other lover, Optimus, in which Silverbolt blows up and tells Optimus every sordid little detail of what he does with Motormaster, and then flies off, hurting terribly, and encounters Motormaster, who fixes things. It's basically a crisis point for Silverbolt, in which Motormaster can finally figure out what Silverbolt needs from their relationship, and provide it in a manner consistant with his nature. (Because Silverbolt was, for his own protection, not trusting Motormaster with what he needed, and equally in his own defense, not acknowledging it himself.)

I'm glad you said this, because it helps. I'm still trying to suss out how Motormaster feels about Silverbolt---were he a normal mech, he'd be in love, but he's Motormaster; he's not familiar with the concept of love and has no idea what to do with it, except on his own, somewhat twisted and unhinged, terms.

I just have to finish it; there's a couple places where it skips and I'm not quite sure what to put in there.

My initial response is 'sex', but I don't think that's the right answer.

It's around the sex---the sex is written. But there's little points that need making and dialogue that needs to segue into other dialogue, et cetera. *doesn't have it up, so can't remember*

But, I have to get up early tomorrow, so I had best get to bed (and fantasize about Moto/Silver until I fall asleep).

Actually, how's the Moto/Silver one end? How are they feeling towards each other?

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna read it, 'cause, well, OTP* . . . but it's how they deal afterwards that is the big deal.

*That might be the stupidest thing I've ever said, but it's true. Moth to fire, is me.

It ends with consensual sex, and Silverbolt pulling a nasty fast one on Motormaster. They both end up furious after all is said and done, though sexually sated. Which is how I'll segue into Wrath.

I've said for years that I don't want to write MotoBolt with a relationship built on rape, then when I sit down to try to write the 'romance' of them, I open with an attempted rape. DAMNIT, MOTORMASTER.

They eventually are. I'm just not sure the exact details between the first two (Lust and Wrath), the next bunch, and the last one (Pride). But I want to build it from Motormaster's initial "want, take, have" and Silverbolt's initial "get the fuck away from me" to a believable equal and consensual sexual relationship.
