Update on the Work Situation
Jul. 8th, 2005 01:14 amThe Company people came down and audited our store. We passed the audit, so we've all still got jobs. Excelente primo good.
Of course, as part of the audit, they all felt the urge to try to tell me how to do my job. I'm very glad they were only there for the first three hours of my shift. My uterus maliciously started squeezing out its lining today, so I was this close to telling them to back the fuck up and let me do my job.
All of our stuff got moved around, too. I normally have two little refridgerators in the fountain area, but when I came in today, one had been moved to the other side of the store. All of its normal contents got stuffed into my other fridge, which was a royal bitch. There was also tons of stuff put in the walk-in fridge that just did not belong.
Those three hours the corporate-types wasted also meant that I didn't get a chance to break down the fountain or cut up citrus before it got busy. I didn't get a chance to start serious cleanup until an hour before closing, which meant I had to stay forty minutes past closing just to get everything done. Then, to make my joy complete, I couldn't completely stock everything because we had run out of those items.
---
As far as I know, none of my UK friends were in London at the time of the bombings and for that I'm thankful.
My prayers are with the injured, their families, and the families of the bereaved. May God give you peace.
