My Mind Wandered...
Sep. 21st, 2005 12:01 pmAnd returned with Skyfire angst. Gee, thanks, brain.
A while ago, I figured out the setup for a Blitzwing/Skyfire fic, should I ever get around to writing one. Post-"Five Faces of Darkness", Blitzwing's running out of fuel. He is, in fact, in the opening scene, running on fumes. When he's about to shut down, and is hallucinating due to failing sensory systems, Skyfire finds him. For reason that aren't terribly clear to me but that have something to do with Skyfire being a decent guy, he takes the Decepticon into his hold and gives him some of his own fuel.
Blitzwing's in pretty cruddy shape, though, so he pretty much goes into stasis lock as his internal repair systems kick into overtime. Not before, however, asking "What took ya, 'train?"
Needless to say, Blitzwing is less than happy to find out that he's not inside Astrotrain when he wakes up. Unfortunately, as Skyfire points out, there's a reason he was starving in the first place - not only are giant war machines not terribly useful in this part of the galaxy, but Galvatron's put out word that he'll annihilate anyone who hires Blitzwing. (This part is subject to change; the ultimate effect is not.) The only way Blitzwing is going to keep getting fuel is if he stays with Skyfire. And he's going to have to earn his keep.
Skyfire probably prefers to work with a partner, even one like Blitzwing. Besides, the triple-changer makes an effective bodyguard.
Anyways, after much adventure and drama, Blitzwing realizes he's fallen in love. So, being the 'former he is, he more or less holds Skyfire at gunpoint to get an answer as to whether or not the spaceship loves him. The answer is mostly likely a qualified yes. Snoggage ensues.
Sometime after this, Starscream's ghost finds the two of them and possesses Blitzwing. And boy, does Skyfire angst.
