01. How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in?

The very first fanfic I remember writing is "Closer to the Heart", which is still up on my FF.Net account as a sort of archaeological record. It was a Dragonball Z story about Nappa, proving that even eleven years ago, I was going for little-loved characters.

I first got into fandom at all with DBZ through looking for more stuff related to the anime. This was back when the dubbing stopped halfway through the Frieza saga so I desperately wanted to know what happened next. When I first encountered fanfiction, I was baffled by the concept. What kind of stories could people possibly tell? Why would I want to read them when I could watch the show?

I don't remember what exactly changed my mind and got me into the whole thing. I do know my own fanfic was a response to Dragoness Eclectic's Raditz stories. There's a couple things in "Closer to the Heart" that are drawn entirely from her 'verse.
